By Rich Krafting

Updated:

Whether you’re hitting Vegas for a bachelor party, wedding, or just to party, you want to look good. If your run out of time before your flight leaves, there are plenty of barber shops to get a hot new cut or fresh shave along the Strip and downtown. It’s worth it to venture just off the Strip for a better deal and outstanding experience. While there are plenty more excellent Las Vegas barbershops, these are the best barber shops on the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown.

4. Bolt Barbers Monkey Train Barbershop

3.5 stars – 28 reviews

In addition to two Los Angeles locations with attitude and atmosphere, the Las Vegas shop is located inside a restored 1967 Union Pacific caboose and 1953 box car, the exterior is only a hint of the vintage interior. Bolt Barbers are still proud of their “people love to hate us on Yelp” reputation, which is reflected in 1-star reviews that contrast the plentiful 5-star reviews. You’ll know if this is the place for you or not. Call to confirm they are open before heading over.

The Bolt Barbers Monkey Train is an experience. You get a fresh haircut from a talented barber, a neck shave, a massage and a hot towel, all while in the insanely cool and new DTLV Container Park. Totally worth the few extra bucks and longer than normal time for a regular haircut. – Alex A.

3. A Cut Above the Rest

4.5 stars – 32 reviews

I’ve had 2 fades done now by Joe the Barber and let me tell you, my man knows his stuff. The barber shop is just that: a barber shop. No frills, lotsa chairs. Really good old and new school soul music playing the background. Half the people are waiting to get haircuts and the other 1/2 are just hanging out and enjoying the banter. I recommend this place to anyone in the DTLV area or anyone looking for a good haircut at a reasonable price. – Ray N.

I concur: the best barber shop in town. I first came here early this year after shopping around…My last few haircuts had a sh#tty hairlines and awful service, so I was nervous when the barber pulled out those magic clippers and cut w/ (too much?) ease and finesse, like Edward S. Jr. The result: hhhotness!

My haircuts (always walk-in) are thoughtful and timely (no fake 1/2 hour post-cut detailing), and all the barbers are social and cool as hell… not one awkward dude in the bunch.

O yeah, I got the best cut I’ve seen in years-with an impeccable and creative hairline and the exact level I asked for. I’d forgotten I could look quite that good ;-) Jasten M.

“A cut above the rest!” Yes indeed These dudes are the business! TIM-O is the man! He’s been in the business 20+ years and knows what’s up. Extremely pleased with my cut and experience. – Johnny Q.

This place is a MUST visit for every gentleman out there.

I’ve been here a few times for the Royal Shave. Don’t skimp…get the Royal Shave. Totally worth it.

It’s worth every penny. I wish I could afford to come to this spot weekly…instead save it for a special occasion. – Dave N.

This place is a little pricey, but definitely a great way to treat yourself. The staff is quite professional and friendly. And, it’s not just a great barbershop, but a great experience. They aren’t looking to simply roll through customers as quick as they can like many barber shops. They pay attention to every little detail and you will definitely enjoy yourself while you’re there. – Nate H.

1. Hi-Rollers Barber Shop

4.5 stars – 40 reviews

Hi-Rollers is a classic barbershop with an inviting and jovial atmosphere, vintage decor, and barbers with sharp skills. The word was out about this joint even before it appeared on Pawn Stars (the Old Man goes there) and Counting Cars. They don’t take appointments but relax, enjoy the banter, and the wait will go by quickly. No credit cards.

[new_royalslider id=”60″]

This ain’t Super Cuts, thank god for that. Yes, you will wait anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours, but it’s well worth it, and like me if you get their early some days you won’t have to wait that long at all.

Chris cut my hair, and he’s not just a Barber he’s a Master Craftsman at what he does, and I’m thankful for the incredible job he does too. But to be honest all the guys here do an OUTSTANDING JOB and seem to love what it is that they’re doing, so you can’t go wrong with whomever cuts your hair.

These guy definitely earned their title of “Best of Vegas 2014,” so this is just another reason to check the joint out, plus for $19 bucks how can you go wrong? Did I mention this place has been here since the 50’s too? – Ted B.

Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

The cuts are amazing, the barbers are legends and the barbershop has the coolest shit everywhere.

We got there at midday and there was already about 8 boys waiting for cuts (this is how you know it’s good). All the barbers greet you and tell you it might be a bit of a wait but feel free to stick around….and so glad we did. We had 6 of us the day of my wedding for some fresh cuts. The whole time you feel included in their banter and jokes, there’s good music playing and it doesn’t even feel like you’re waiting.

The cuts turned out amazing, they take time as they are all perfectionists, I couldn’t believe the skill and precision they all had.

My barber did mine on the house as a wedding gift….I was absolutely speechless….but their service didn’t stop there. – Kris R.
