Baseball has become known for the many and creative beards sported by players but the sport used to be all about mustaches. A few highlights include George Foster’s pencil and mutton chops combo (1), Rollie Fingers’ classic handlebar (2), and Dennis Eckersley’s walrus (3). Today, Danny Espinosa joins their ranks with his unique facial hair.
The Washington Nationals second baseman sports a very thick horseshoe mustache. The biker mustache was made popular by Hulk Hogan but Espinosa wears his stache bushier and thicker all around. It’s practically a beard. The most similar baseball mustache is Al Hrabosky, the “Mad Hungarian’s” distinct Fu Manchu (4) but we think Espinosa’s is the best mustache in baseball.
